Collyhurst Summer Fun Day 2026

Decks, paint pots, face paint, giant games and a Festival Chill Zone that had a serious upgrade.

Back for another year.

On Wednesday 19 August, we headed back to Collyhurst Park for the annual Summer Fun Day and this time, we brought an upgraded version of the Found Festival Chill Zone with us.

Last year, we gave people somewhere to grab a deck chair, stick around and enjoy the day.

This year, we gave them a lot more to get stuck into.

The Festival Chill Zone. Upgraded.

The deck chairs, beanbags, Found flags and live DJ were all back, but we added a few new bits into the mix.

DJ lessons. A craft station. Free face painting. Giant outdoor games. Giveaways.

Basically, slightly less chill in the Chill Zone this year.

There was still plenty of space to sit down, catch the music and take five, but if sitting still wasn't your thing, you had options.

Your turn on the decks.

One of the new additions this year came courtesy of Make Me a DJ, who set up shop in our zone and gave people the chance to actually get behind the decks.

Not just standing next to them pretending you know what all the buttons do.

Throughout the afternoon, people could have a go, learn some of the basics and see what it actually takes to mix a track.

Our live DJ kept the tunes going for the rest of the afternoon, so whether you were learning or leaving it to the professionals, the soundtrack was sorted.

Pots, paint and plenty to do.

Studio Dawn joined us with a creative station where people could paint and decorate their own plant pots to take home

Add free face painting, four giant outdoor games and Found sweet bags and stickers into the equation, and there wasn't much chance of hearing "I'm bored" from this corner of the park.
Kids got involved.

Parents got involved.

And, as always, a fair few adults suddenly became very invested in the giant games.

More reasons to stick around.

We kept our usual spot in Collyhurst Park, but gave people more reasons to come over and spend some time there.

Some came for the DJ lessons. Some got creative with Studio Dawn. Some went straight for the face paint. Others grabbed a beanbag, listened to the music and watched everything going on around them.

That's why we wanted to build on the Festival Chill Zone this year rather than completely change it.

It still gave families, friends and neighbours somewhere to stop and recharge in the middle of the Summer Fun Day.

There was just a lot more to do once they got there.

Big thanks to Manchester City Council, Studio Dawn, Make Me a DJ and everyone else who helped bring our corner of Collyhurst Summer Fun Day to life.

Same again next year?

Go on then.
